PolicyTech alternatives and NAVEX PolicyTech competitors for policies that exist because of an audit
PolicyTech is a document control system for large workforces, now sold as part of NAVEX One. Whether an alternative saves you money depends on how many people read your policies and why you write them in the first place.
The best PolicyTech alternative depends on why your policies exist. NAVEX PolicyTech, now marketed as NAVEX One Policy and Procedure Management, is built for organizations that push hundreds of policies to thousands of employees and need approval thresholds, department-scoped distribution, translations and attestation campaigns at that scale. If that is your program, the realistic alternatives are other enterprise policy suites: Mitratech PolicyHub, ConvergePoint if you live in SharePoint, RLDatix PolicyStat in healthcare and PowerDMS in public safety. If your policies exist mainly because a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 auditor, an enterprise customer or a regulator asked for them, PolicyTech is usually more machinery than the job needs.
NAVEX does not publish a PolicyTech price. Its product page, read on October 19, 2026, offers Get Pricing and a demo, and a 2024 NAVEX datasheet describes three versions, Foundation, Professional and Enterprise, with Microsoft 365 integration, advanced approval workflows and the advanced reporting suite starting at Professional. The only outside benchmark is Vendr, which reports a NAVEX-wide median of $6,566 a year across 67 purchases, in a range from $1,405 to $26,546, as of February 2026. That figure covers all NAVEX products, not PolicyTech alone.
Complies is the alternative for the second kind of buyer: a company of 5 to 200 people whose 15 to 40 policies have to satisfy an auditor. It drafts each policy from the stack you actually run, requires a named approver, keeps every version, tracks which team member acknowledged which version, and maps each policy to the SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA and PCI DSS controls it supports. Plans are published at $47, $119, $299 and $499 a month billed yearly, with monthly billing available and no demo required.
WHERE NAVEX POLICYTECH IS GENUINELY STRONG
- Built for policy volume. PolicyTech handles a centralized repository, automatic archiving, configurable approval thresholds such as three of five approvers, department sync and bulk management. For a hospital system or a manufacturer with a thousand controlled documents and several review committees, that machinery is the product.
- Attestation at workforce scale. Distribution campaigns, attestation tracking, assessments and completion by proxy are in every version, so a compliance team can prove that 8,000 employees read the new code of conduct, including the ones without a corporate laptop.
- Connected to the rest of NAVEX One. PolicyTech links to EthicsPoint, NAVEX's hotline and incident management product, so an investigator can cite the policy a report concerns, and the same suite sells training, disclosures and third party risk. If you already run EthicsPoint, that integration is a genuine reason to stay.
NAVEX PolicyTech vs Complies, on what matters
| Dimension | NAVEX PolicyTech | Complies |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is built for | Large regulated organizations with a compliance and ethics function and hundreds of controlled documents | Companies of 5 to 200 whose policies exist to satisfy SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR or PCI DSS |
| Published pricing | None. Get Pricing and demo only. Vendr NAVEX-wide median $6,566 a year, range $1,405 to $26,546 | Published: $47, $119, $299 and $499 a month billed yearly, monthly billing on every plan |
| Who acknowledges policies | The whole workforce, with campaigns, proxies and public viewer licenses as add-ons | Workspace members: 3 on Starter, 15 on Growth, 40 on Scale, unlimited on Enterprise |
| Languages | Foundation includes US English plus three standard languages, all standard languages from Professional, localization workflow on Enterprise | English only |
| Link to audit controls | Policy documents managed as documents. Framework mapping is not the core of the product | Each policy mapped to the controls it supports across five frameworks, so the annual review is audit evidence |
| Hotline and investigations | EthicsPoint integration for misconduct reports tied to policies | No whistleblower hotline or case management |
WHEN NAVEX POLICYTECH IS THE BETTER CHOICE
Stay with PolicyTech, or pick another enterprise policy suite, if you distribute policies to thousands of employees, need translations and localization workflow, run EthicsPoint for your hotline, or keep a large library of operating procedures under formal document control. Complies does not do those things, and pretending otherwise would waste your migration budget. Complies fits when your policy set is small, your readers are your own team, and the real deliverable is a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit that asks who approved each policy, when it was last reviewed and who acknowledged it.
How much does PolicyTech cost?
NAVEX does not publish PolicyTech pricing. The product page, read on October 19, 2026, has a Get Pricing link and a request for a personalized demo, and no tiers with dollar figures. What NAVEX does publish is the shape of the product: a 2024 version comparison datasheet lists Foundation, Professional and Enterprise. Foundation covers the repository, standard approval workflows, distribution campaigns, attestation tracking and standard campaign reporting. Professional adds Microsoft 365 integration, content creation collaboration, advanced approval workflows, automated department sync and the advanced reporting suite. Enterprise adds the localization workflow. Non-standard translations, public viewer licenses and third-party access are sold as add-ons.
The only outside benchmark is Vendr, which brokers software contracts. Its NAVEX page reports that the median buyer pays $6,566 a year, based on 67 purchases, with deals from $1,405 to $26,546 and an average negotiated saving of about 15 percent, last updated February 2026. That benchmark covers NAVEX as a vendor, so it mixes PolicyTech with EthicsPoint, training and other modules. Treat it as a budgeting anchor, not a PolicyTech rate card. Directory listings quote a starting price for PolicyTech with no unit or method behind it, so we leave those out.
For comparison, Complies publishes Starter at $47 a month billed yearly ($564 a year) for 3 seats and one framework, Growth at $119 ($1,428 a year) for 15 seats and five cross-mapped frameworks, Scale at $299 for 40 seats, and Enterprise at $499 with unlimited seats. Monthly billing is $95, $239, $599 and $998. The comparison only holds if your readers are your own team. If you need attestations from 5,000 hourly employees, the fair comparison is between PolicyTech and the other enterprise suites, not between PolicyTech and us.

PolicyTech competitors compared by who reads your policies
Directories list every policy tool against every other, which hides the only question that matters when you leave PolicyTech: whether your readers are a large workforce or a small team preparing for an audit. Prices below were read off each vendor's own site, or labeled as a Vendr benchmark, between August and October 2026.
| Platform | What it really is | Published price | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| NAVEX PolicyTech | Enterprise policy and procedure management inside NAVEX One, in Foundation, Professional and Enterprise versions | Not published. Vendr NAVEX-wide median $6,566 a year, range $1,405 to $26,546, February 2026 | Large regulated organizations that also run EthicsPoint or NAVEX training |
| Mitratech PolicyHub | Policy lifecycle and attestation campaigns for mid-size to large organizations | Not published. Demo request only | Compliance teams focused on proving employee attestation |
| ConvergePoint | Policy workflow that runs as an app inside Microsoft 365 SharePoint | Not published. Demo request only | Organizations that want policies to stay where their documents already live |
| PowerDMS by NEOGOV | Policy, training and accreditation for public safety and public agencies | Not published. Vendr median $7,233, range $619 to $18,423, sample not disclosed | Police, 9-1-1, fire, EMS and corrections agencies |
| RLDatix PolicyStat | Clinical policy and procedure library for accreditation surveys | Not published. Quote only | Hospitals and health systems |
| Complies | Compliance platform where policies are drafted, approved, acknowledged and mapped to audit controls | Published: $47, $119, $299 and $499 a month billed yearly | Companies of 5 to 200 preparing for SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR or PCI DSS |
| Vanta and Drata | Audit automation platforms with policy templates bundled in | Not published. Vendr medians $20,000 and $24,868 a year, February 2026 | Funded startups buying automated technical evidence collection |
Only one row shows a price the vendor published itself, and it is ours. Vendr figures come from negotiated contracts, move between refreshes, and the NAVEX one covers every NAVEX product. If a site quotes you a precise per-user monthly price for PolicyTech, ask where the number came from.
Four things to settle before you replace PolicyTech
Count readers, not documents
Pull the attestation report from your last campaign. If thousands of employees acknowledge policies every year, you need workforce attestation and any audit-focused tool will feel small. If the real audience is 30 to 150 people on your own team, you are paying for distribution machinery you do not use.
Separate PolicyTech from the NAVEX bundle
Ask NAVEX for the PolicyTech line on its own. Many customers buy it alongside EthicsPoint, training or disclosures with a multi-product discount, and leaving one module can raise the price of the rest. Know that number before you compare alternatives.
Check which policies an auditor actually tests
A SOC 2 or ISO 27001 auditor tests a short list: information security, access control, change management, incident response, vendor management, acceptable use and a few more, each with an owner, an approval date and acknowledgments. If that list is your whole program, it fits comfortably in Complies.
Export version history before you give notice
Request every policy with its full version history, approval records and attestation logs. A switch that keeps only the current documents loses the audit trail that proves your program ran last year, and auditors ask for it.
Switching questions
NAVEX does not publish PolicyTech pricing; its product page offers Get Pricing and a demo. Vendr, which brokers software contracts, reports a NAVEX-wide median of $6,566 a year across 67 purchases, with a range of $1,405 to $26,546, as of February 2026. That figure covers all NAVEX products, so a PolicyTech-only quote can sit above or below it.
For enterprise document control and workforce attestation, Mitratech PolicyHub and ConvergePoint are the closest alternatives, with RLDatix PolicyStat for hospitals and PowerDMS for public safety agencies. For companies of 5 to 200 whose policies exist to pass SOC 2 or ISO 27001, Complies covers drafting, approval, versioning and acknowledgment from $47 a month billed yearly.
Yes. NAVEX now markets PolicyTech as NAVEX One Policy and Procedure Management, one module of its NAVEX One platform alongside EthicsPoint hotline and incident management, training and third party risk. The product is still sold in Foundation, Professional and Enterprise versions, and it integrates with EthicsPoint in all three.
According to NAVEX's version comparison datasheet, Foundation covers the repository, standard approvals, distribution campaigns and attestation tracking. Professional adds Microsoft 365 integration, collaborative drafting, advanced approval workflows, department sync and advanced reporting. Enterprise adds a localization workflow for translated policies. Translations, public viewer licenses and third-party access are add-ons.
In enterprise policy management, PolicyTech competes with Mitratech PolicyHub, ConvergePoint, RLDatix PolicyStat, PowerDMS by NEOGOV and policy modules inside GRC suites. For smaller companies preparing for a security audit, the realistic competitors are compliance platforms with built-in policy workflows, such as Vanta, Drata and Complies.
Usually not, unless the company already runs other NAVEX products. A 40 person software company carries about 15 to 40 policies read by its own staff, and the auditor wants an owner, an approval date and acknowledgments per version. A compliance platform with a published price covers that without workforce distribution features you will not use.
Yes, for most companies under 200 people. Complies drafts each policy from your connected stack, requires a named approver, records every version, tracks which team member acknowledged which version, and maps the policy to SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA and PCI DSS controls. It does not offer translations, a hotline or public viewer access.
Export every active policy as a document, plus its version history, approval records and attestation logs, before your notice period starts. In Complies you paste the current text into a new policy, assign an owner, approve it, and start a fresh acknowledgment round. Keep the PolicyTech export as evidence of last year's program for your auditor.
